Gulf Shores Inshore Adventure: Mahi Mahi and Surprises Await!

I had a blast taking Shrunga and their crew out for an Inshore Fishing Adventure in Gulf Shores with Joseph Company. June in Boston is a great time for inshore fishing, with warmer waters bringing in a variety of species. We met up at 2:00 am in Boston MA, ready for an early start. The weather was partly cloudy, but the water conditions were great, setting us up for a solid day of fishing.

We kicked things off with some surf casting, then switched to light tackle spinning and bottom fishing as we moved around. The variety of techniques kept things interesting, and it wasn't long before we got into some action. The highlight of the day was when one of the group hooked into a nice Mahi Mahi, also known as Common Dolphinfish. It put up a good fight, but they managed to bring it in - a solid 19-incher! We also caught a Red lionfish, which was pretty cool to see up close. These fish aren't common in these parts, so it was a neat surprise for everyone.

As we fished, we moved around to different spots, trying to find where the fish were biting best. The partly cloudy sky actually worked in our favor, keeping things cool without being too gloomy. Everyone got a chance to try out different techniques, and it was fun watching the group get better at casting and reeling as the day went on. Even when the fish weren't biting, we had a good time just being out on the water and enjoying the day.
