Inshore Thrills: Mahi Mahi & Brook Trout Bonanza in Gulf Shores

We kicked off our Inshore Fishing Adventure in Gulf Shores with Shrunga and their crew on a clear June morning in Boston. It was a great time to be out on the water, with the fish starting to get more active as the water warms up. We met up at 4:00 am in Boston MA, ready for an early start to make the most of the day. June's usually a good month for inshore fishing around here, with plenty of action close to shore.

Once we got out on the water, we tried a mix of jigging, trolling, and bait fishing to see what would work best. The crew picked up the techniques quickly, and it wasn't long before we started getting some bites. We hooked into some nice Brook Trout, which put up a good fight on our light tackle. The real highlight came when we landed a Mahi Mahi, also known as Common Dolphinfish. That one measured in at 19 inches - a solid catch for inshore waters and definitely something to be proud of.

Throughout the day, the weather held up nicely with clear conditions, making for a comfortable time on the boat. We moved around a bit, trying different spots and adjusting our tactics based on what was working. The crew from Joseph Company was great to fish with, always eager to learn and try new things. Even when the fish weren't biting, we had a good time just being out on the water and enjoying the day.
