Epic Boston Inshore Adventure: From Mahi to Sailfish

Hey there! What a day we had out on the water in Boston, MA with Joseph Company. June is a fantastic time for inshore fishing around here, with plenty of action as the waters warm up. I met up with Shrunga at 7:00 am, ready to kick off our Inshore Fishing Adventure in Gulfshore. The weather was on our side, with clear conditions throughout the day - perfect for spotting fish.

We started off doing some trolling, which quickly paid off when we hooked into a beautiful Mahi Mahi. That fish put up a great fight, leaping out of the water and showing off its vibrant colors. Not long after, we switched to jigging and managed to land a Blacktip Shark - talk about an adrenaline rush! The variety didn't stop there. We tried our hand at fly fishing and were rewarded with a Brook Trout, a bit unusual for these parts but a welcome surprise. The highlight of the day, though, was definitely when we hooked an Atlantic Sailfish while kite fishing. That fish gave us a run for our money, but Shrunga did a great job bringing it in.

Throughout the day, we mixed it up with different techniques. We did some deep sea fishing, tried our hand at bow fishing (always a unique experience), and even gave ice fishing a go - hey, why not try everything, right? Light tackle proved effective for some of the smaller fish, while we needed the heavy tackle for that sailfish. We finished off with some surf casting and drift fishing, just to round out the experience. The Kaveri River Basin provided some interesting conditions, keeping us on our toes and making for some exciting fishing.
