Feisty King Mackerel, Stunning Kaveri River Basin Fishing Adventure

It was a beautiful day out on the Kaveri River Basin, and I was excited to take Shrunga out for a Fishing test with the team at Joseph Company. May is a prime time for backcountry fishing in this area, as the warming waters bring the fish closer to the surface, making for some fantastic action.

We met up at Boston Logan International Airport bright and early, got our gear loaded up, and headed out. The weather was partly cloudy, with a bit of rain clearing up later in the day - perfect conditions for a variety of techniques. As we got out on the water, we started mixing it up, trying everything from deep sea fishing and jigging to trolling and fly fishing. It wasn't long before Shrunga hooked into a feisty King Mackerel that put up one heck of a fight. After a spirited battle, we got that beauty in the boat, and the excitement was palpable.

The action stayed strong throughout the day, with Shrunga landing a few more nice King Mackerels using a mix of techniques. We also had some opportunities with bow fishing, ice fishing, and bait casting, keeping things interesting and giving Shrunga a chance to test out different setups. Between catches, we took in the beautiful Kaveri River Basin scenery and just enjoyed being out on the water together.
